How to Make a Blueberry Old Fashioned

An old fashioned cocktail always pays attention to taste, so we always start making a blueberry old fashioned with bourbone, we use Bulleit bourbon, this is the right balance for a refreshing drink from blueberries.

Next, your task is to make simple blueberry syrup, this syrup is versatile because it can be used for a variety of different drinks.

Here, we will show you how to make blueberry simple syrup in this article. Well, the short version is by boiling blueberries (like in the film of Matsya and Bear), we will boil the blueberries with water, sugar until they burst and give a charming purple color.

Next, the water is taken from this stew by filtering it using a fine sieve (you can use gauze). We only take the water and set aside the pulp and skin. You can use the pulp and skin for other purposes such as making jam and so on.

Jam from blueberries can be used as jam when you eat pancakes or oatmeal. This blueberry simple syrup is delicious served when it is completely cold, because you will add ice cubes too. If it is still warm, and add ice cubes, it will melt quickly and not provide a perfect cold feeling.

How Long does Blueberry Syrup Last?

This blueberry simple syrup will last a week in the refrigerator. So, if you need more or want to consume it every day, you can make a lot and store it in the refrigerator to take at any time.

When serving blueberry simple syrup, you can use a suitable whiskey glass that can provide good aesthetics.

There isn’t a lot of liquid from this syrup, so you can just use a whiskey glass without having to use a long glass. Add a large ice cube or a handful of crushed ice. However, there is the best way to make blueberry syrup cold. This is by freezing 10 blueberries in the freezer, then using these frozen blueberries to replace ice cubes.

Add a little simple syrup, some ice cubes, bourbone in a cocktail shaker. Next, strain it into your glass. Also add about 3 drops of Angostura, and prepare some blueberries as a garnish.

Sometimes there are also people who add rosemary to it, this is just for the aroma, so not only rosemary, you can also add orange peel for a refreshing orange aroma.
